This is undoubtedly the best and most ingenous music I've ever encountered with. This album is a classic!
The funny thing is that I and a lot others I know who today are blood-fans hated this music the first time we heard it, especially Try Honesty which is my all-time favorite song today. But I gave it one more chance, and as the songs grew on me I turned the volume up, sat back and got completely mesmerized. If you do the same you'll notice all the small details and the little things that has made this band what it is today, every song is like a roller coster, especially Try Honesty. You'll love this band even more if you dig into their story and realize that this band actually is nothing like the other bands today.. mainly because they're only in this business because of making music; touring all year, supporting every fan and band they cross over always with humility, making a 100% efffort on each album (they used about 2 years on making this one) and making something of their own with their own sound and actually no basic influenses. They played for 13 years before they made this debut album. You shouldn't blame this opinion on me alone either, cause when they released this record in Canada they got showered with prices and sales going platinum, topping the list everywhere. Today they do more charity work with poverty and fighting MS than probably any of the other bands today. The guitarist, Ian D'Sa, is recognized as one of the best Canadian guitarists of the day and even though their drummer suffers from MS himself, and has been for many years now, they're still making great music.. which is why I want to puke every time I hear someone talking about Billy Talent as simply mainstream, pop-punk and emo music when they don't know an even slightest bit about what this band is all about. Every article I've read argumenting this opinion has no real information about this band whatsoever.
I believe that most of you'll like them if you give them another chance like I did, turn up the volume and enjoy the fucking great music which it really is. I've never in my life heard something that could compare to this, and I've listened to a lot. Like I said, every song is like a roller coster, you'd actually feel worn out after hearing one of their song (from this album). Try it yourselves, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nb_UNjh-oMU this one is what blew my eyes open, and from the second album this suffering - if you don't feel this you must be dead inside.

I am doing the same, Lucidity. Most bands I listened to in high school, in retrospect, sucked. But this stuff is still great, I'm finding.
