the pretend part was rather unnecessary I'll give you that, and there certainly are some great ideas and moments in this but they could have achieved exactly the same with a much shorter album. Length does not equal grandiosity, and I truthfully found it boring. I just don't understand why they have to repeat the same passages for literally four minutes at a time. I was more butthurt over the fact that eternium was butthurt over someone not jumping on the bandwagon and going with general consensus

I can't blame anyone for finding this boring...I remember my first time listening to this there were a few "oh my god on with this already" moments.
But for those of us who can deal with drone music, this is one of the best albums of the year.

bullshit, most of my favourite artists/albums are from the Prog metal/rock genres where song structure and length are nothing like conventional pop. However they have enough variety within each track to keep me interested.

I fully accept that reasoning actually. This is prob my first real foray into the genre and perhaps it's just not for me. I will explore some more within this, and see if it changes my opinion on both this and the genre as a whole. What would you rec as a good starting point?
