You have some great criticism there Willie, and looking back at it now I see the flaws of the review. I'm not going to act all butthurt or whatever, I could have written it way better (that will hopefully improve with time)
Keep in mind that this was my 2nd review. It's going to have flaws and whatnot
It's more than that, really. You've proven that you don't like this style of music before, and you also made it really clear in your opening paragraph. Obviously, that doesn't mean you can't write a review about it, but you also can't expect to be taken as seriously when your main complaints are about normal staples of their genre/style. I hate country music and so if I write a country music review complaining about twangy guitars, simplistic song structures, and lyrics about incest, country fans aren't going to take me seriously because I'm bitching about the fundamentals of that genre. All the grammatical stuff was just icing on the cake.

The rating is just the aggregate of everyone's opinion. Unless you think there was some ballot stuffing at Sputnik, then all albums here are properly rated based on how much people like the album.
Unless you mean overrated in the sense that everyone who enjoys listening to the album is wrong and only your opinion is right....which would make you an egotistical douche bag.

No, people will tend to listen to an album differently depending on what they heard before going into it or not notice flaws until someone points them out. I am not saying it is the end all be all but it has an influence.

This is overrated for it's massive hype it has atm. This had ridiculously high average (4.5) and when people see that high scores it influences their ratings too.
If you see an album with an average of 2.5 and an album with average of 4.3 which one will you 4.5 first if they seem to be equally good to you? If you'll read any reviews, the more hated ones will have pointed out more flaws. Many will think that it has flaws, even if flaws in music are subjective. The scores will the most probably still affect you, because 4.5 feels more 'right' for an album with high average, it kinda confirms your score.
Also, this has been checked out still mostly by metal community. The average will most likely go down a bit when people who aren't so much into this kind of music will check this out. So atm, I definetly would call this overrated

If you meAn originality then Dummy sounded way more original back in the day than third a couple years back. But wots ur definition artistic vision?
