I really think this is at least on par with Mysterious Production of Eggs, but in a totally different way

Yeah basically less quirk more awesome

I was surprised my how much I've been enjoying the lyrics on this

Finally in the mood to be listening to this and it's fantastic so far.

i love how Give It Away breaks off into an instrumental piece that strays from the main track.

yes this has only grown on me more like something old and worn--the feel it always possessed, perhaps. The most remarkable thing about the album is the way it captures the feelings of nostalgia, not just as a superficial theme, but as a deeply rooted tone for the entire album; it's all honeyed golden and faded and a little sad but in the way that doesn't make you feel bad

So does the ' best new music' ever get updated or is this just going to stay there forever?

yeah this and Chromatics have been the only two albums this year that I can safely say I really love. There's been a few other good ones, but nothing even remotely touching great beyond those two--and even then this album is miles beyond Chromatics (but they're a different kettle of fish)

god, this is so better than tons of shitty indie shit striving to be quirky and subtle

Yeah scissorlocked. Andrew just 'gets it'. When the subtlety is there, it feels so natural.
The songs were written subtly and the music is complimentary to it as well rather than trying to hammer the subtly in to sound quirky and unique like I feel other musicians seem to do.

Yeah, the duet of Bird and Annie Clark is wonderful. I listen to a plethora of "indie" music and this one just seems to be far more infectious than most.
