Nice review, Sowing. I can only speak for myself, but as someone who loves prog rock and interesting music in general (as well as Opeth's entire discography prior to this), the songwriting on this album feels very uninspired as a whole. I'm all for Mikael & co. doing something entirely different than their previous body of work, especially since as I'm getting older my musical tastes are veering farther and farther from my previously metal-rooted ones. But what can I say - most of this album bores me.

And, I guess, to be fair, if he considers acoustic-ish music with mellow atmosphere and lyrics like that the worst, that's for him to decide. There is some consistency there, too, in his ratings. I mean, he also rated Ghost by Devin Townsend Project a one. Maybe he just considers that music boring, for instance. Fair enough. I disagree with him, but, fair enough.

I Feel The Dark is a great song! Though personally will always prefer their sound on Still Life and Blackwater to anything else they've done. Album is good but is good enough for an Opeth record in most peoples eyes....
