Try Not to Breathe is probably my favourite these days but the whole album is still as amazing as when I first heard it. Which is a rare thing indeed.

Damn, didn't figure people weren't big on Ignoreland, that song would rule based on Michael Stipe's lyrics and vocals alone. But yeah, Try Not To Breathe is a beauty and I won't stop saying it.

Not too fond of Ignoreland either. Doesn't fit in at all (sounds like second half Green stuff) and overall it's quite mediocre. Least favourite for me on here together with Star Me Kitten.

I'm just profoundly frustrated by all this
So fuck you man.

I might bump this to a 4.5 if Reckoning and Murmur are actually is good as everyone says
|
| |
They are, Murmur is a superb debut that only lacks sadly on the last couple of tracks, and Reckoning is an excellent follow-up, although not as immediately memorable it's just as essential for fans of the genre.
R.E.M. have grown to become one of my favorite bands ever.

I prefer this to Murmur and definitely to Reckoning (I rate LRP higher than that one)

The first 5 and Automatic are untouchable.

chronic-murmur-fables is the key REM triumvirate
