bumping this up.

this guy as an MC really is pretty generic (and i've never been a fan of the whole "stoner rap" thing) but this album as a whole is seriously good. Addicting as hell, too.

I sorta thought about giving this a 4, but I don't really like how a lot of the songs are about the same things/have a lot of mentions of the same things. And I know it's not totally fair for my judgement to change because of subject matter, but I'm sorry, I just can't stand those few graphic descriptions of pussy-licking, even if they're described with a fantastic flow.

But yeah, besides those things, Rocky's flow is really, really good, and like everyone else said, the beats are awesome. And there are a few really good lines, too.

this is worse than tyler the creator trying to do the same shit over and over. forgettable raps, nothing impressive about his
flow or inflexions, monotony both lyrically and in beats... why fucking bother with proper production if your beats are fucking
lazy? there is nothing special about this

anyone calling this rap/hiphop of the year is seriously overlooking kendrick and cunninlynguists.

He may not be the best rapper technically, but damn this is so much fun. He has some clever wordplay and the dude's funny. Some people are looking into this a bit too much imo. Plus the production is sweet as fuck

Although I like this, I'm with balcaen here that it's definitely not the hip-hop album of the year. That honor belongs to Oneirology

Oneirology is good but it got boring after a few listens. I listen to this almost once a day and it hasn't lost any appeal.

he separates himself from other artists doing his shtick by actually employing various styles.

this

like in "palace" he uses lots of different rhyme schemes, flows and other sorta lyrical touches that add to the song. like the varying uses of the root word "stone" at the start

also his delivery is brill has so much charisma

Just because he's not preaching about politically conscious shit doesn't make him a bad lyricist. Subject matter and lyricism are not mutually exclusive. His flow, his bravado, his wordplay, his draw and his diversity all make him a good lyricist even though his subject matter may not necessarily be groundbreaking. And then there's the production which is top notch. Rap AOTY.
