anyone know if dr. robert is referring to dr robert macphail from island by aldous huxley. i was reading it today and noticed a connection and i don't know if it's pure coincidence that everything in the song describes the character or not.

Wikipedia to the rescue!!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr._Robert

"John Lennon has said that Dr. Robert was actually himself, "I was the one who carried all the pills on tour ... in the early days."[2] However, it has been speculated that the real life Doctor Robert is Doctor Robert Freymann, who supplied "generous amounts of amphetamines to people."[3] Another speculation is that it referred to Dr. Charles Roberts, a physican in New York."

Besides the fact that 'Yellow Submarine' is one of the worst songs ever recorded, this album is the very defenition of the word 'classic'.

And to Merkabab33, listen to all the Beatles albums in order of their release. That's they best way in my opinion. It will all be much more coherent that way.

yeah i ended up listening to all of them in kind of a weird order i went like this:

Abbey Road --> Help! --> All the rest chronologically up to Magical Mystery Tour --> Please me, Please Me --> A Hard Day's Night --> White Album (cuz I only have disc 1) Now I just need to get the 2nd disc to the white album and both versions of Let it Be (to compare) and then maybe Love and I'll feel content. I don't feel like I need any of their other earlier work.

You have no soul if you rate this album a 1.5. This album doesn't have a bad song on it.

I normally see the British empire's rule in India from 1757 onward as a bad thing, but without it Revolver would have never been made. All is forgiven.
