Currently listening to 'Beyond The Horizon' from the Weather The Storm single. Such a fantastic piece of music, I wish Insomnium did more instrumentals like this. Glourious stuff.

After just finishing up their North American tour, the band recently stated that they are to begin composing their new record. Makes me very happy.

It will still be another year before we get it probably.

I hope they ditch the cleans and make some long ass songs.

Agreed. Niilo needs to be more in charge of songwriting.

What's with the people complaining about the agression? This band could stand to use a LOT more chugged 16ths, like in Drawn to Black off of Above the Weeping World. Or more heavy chunk riffs like the intro off of Daughter of the Moon.

Its always the same shit. Bad death metal bands never go slow, ever, so the fast parts lose meaning and heaviness. Bad doom metal never goes fast, ever, so the slow parts lose meaning and heaviness.

Insomnium needs to go fast more and whisper less. Whispered lyrics take the center far too often and just aren't that interesting as the focal point of the music. Whispers in the periphery or whispers simultaneously with a more interesting center is good and atmospheric.

This is really awesome stuff. I've barely dipped into Melodeath so I'm not aware of many bands, but these guys have definitely impressed me.

New thread isn't quite active yet for the new stuff, but these two early tracks are sounding a hell of a lot like Omnium Insomnium... ;)

We have the promo and yes, the album has a lot of Omnium Gatherum leaking through.
