I really don't see this myself. Pantera were always far more riff based.
Aside from the fact that both attract the knuckledragging horde, they're completely different bands.
And to clarify, it's not the "knuckle dragging" that puts me off FFDP. I like plenty of meathead stuff and I've always been described as reasonably jockish myself.
It's more that I find FFDP's music to be uneventful as shit and in a style that's mostly measured at how hard you go, they don't go hard at all

the knuckledragging meathead aesthetic does deter me a tad tbh especially since it's not delivered with much substance or anything to make me feel like it's justified. but what am I saying, I'd take shit like Good Charlotte over this any day and they're clearly fake. it's like...at least they try to express more than "FUCK YOU"

This album is very silly, very "masculine" energy, very gung-ho and it's hilarious, but I'm not afraid to admit that some of these songs are very catchy and fun. After this record though, things really started going into the grating, unlistenable side of things
