Watch That Man is an amazing opener
it's an ok opener. for example, and since the rockers on this album are stones tributes, "dancing with mr. d" is better and "if you can't rock me" is on the same level. i mean, what's so special about it? it doesn't even have a good riff, the guitar tones are generic and the arrangements/production your standard rock formula.
I kinda agree with the doctor about the rockers on here

definitely
production is a mess on Watch That Man and Cracked Actor, although you can actually hear Bowie on the latter

Yeah, his voice sounding weak under the mix doesn't make for a strong entrance. At least cracked actor has a badass rawness to it, love that track.

"the album is still naturally buoyed by links and references to Britain"
Ooh yeah verb that noun.
I am finding this album harder to feel out than scary monsters.
