Wouldn't using metallic leads be a pretty big step toward being a metal band of some kind? I'm just wondering where you draw the line between hardcore and metalcore/grindcore.

metallic hardcore is an acceptable term and it describes a style of music which is hardcore with metal influence i.e. it isn't metal it is hardcore

same deal with crossover thrash. may have a heavy hardcore influence but its still notably metal
id consider grind to lean more towards metal but thats one genre where the line between metal/hardcore can often become muddled
