"WE PRAISE SATAN..." That part. He really does just SHRED through REALITY with his vocals, right there.

"To be honest, if you do actually think the concept of this is remotely intelligent, you're reeking of fanboy."
I think not.

This album really isn't as superficial as its critics think. Only a couple songs have the "funny" lyrics that come off as immature. The lyrics are mainly a journey into the mind of Devin Townsend. His battle for sobriety is mentioned a lot, and in the last song, he wins the battle. "DIE! POLTERGEIST!" Poltergeist is obviously the demon that haunted him and overshadowed his music: drug use.

Oh, it's definitely not "superficial". I understand if people dislike the album, but that claim, I agree, is bogus.

This album is so boring at points it's very frustrating. What sucks is when I saw the guest list I was so excited for this. Sadly, it's not what I was hoping for.

I think it's awesome. TMM is the only one that gets boring to me.

Didn't like this on first couple of listens but it's grown on me a lot.

The only parts that bore me are Ã…kerfeldt's parts in "Stand", which is funny, because I love Opeth. I think Devin REALLY underutilized him, and the chorus he screams sucks to begin with.
Aside from those parts, this album is phenomenal.

It didn't exactly live up to my expectations.... but with as much hype as it had I wasn't really surprised. Still... a pretty good album

People who don't enjoy Deconstruction obviously aren't at one with their inner-music-nerd....Something of which Devin speaks of constantly, and has spoken to me about personally, he said ~
"You will never truly be happy in life until you break down and accept yourself for the Nerd you truly are on the inside..."
I believe that Deconstruction embodies that statement....people who either don't enjoy or understand the intricacies of this album either have insecurity issues with themselves or simply take music WAY too seriously (As you: AtomicWaste, stated so poignantly) and can't enjoy some silliness crossbred with awesomeness....hahaha Poor saps. They know not what they miss
