"I'd say both are about equally important to me. If the riffs and solos are really great I can overlook a horrible/sterile production but most of the time I prefer my death metal underproduced as opposed to overproduced. If the shit is too clean it really takes away the edge and can ruin it for me."

I see you. I just think modern tech death's clean production is kind of an attribute of the genre now. Sorta like how raw production is with black metal. Like others said you need the clean production to make stuff like the bass stand out (which is what caught my ear). Otherwise its not tech death in the modern sense. I guess you either like it or you dont. No biggie. Its just something a little different to me but I only have a couple bands who play this style. Some of it sounds pretty cool.

this is awesome

I can't decide between a 4 and a 4.5 for it. we should have these ratings up to 10, or with a 0.25 decimal :/

After hearing Omnipresent Perception, I have to get my hands on this. Sounds like top-notch tech death a-la Martyr.

The melodies and progressions they use can get monotonous, only minors there. But that's the only thing that's even remotely bad about this album
