Garageband is what I use, Logic Pro is $400, even for Academic :/

I used Logic for a couple weeks and it's really not worth it for me personally. It's probably way more powerful but trying to make MIDI's, loop things, etc., is absoulutely a pain in the ass. Also, thanks to anyone else who checked this out.

I've just remembered that my electric piano has +30 instrument settings on it. So I have several types of piano, several types of organ, several types of electric piano, acoustic guitar, two types of string orchestras and other instruments.
I have a real eletric guitar and acoustic guitar plus a potential drummer in my brother, and vocals.

zomgz the sudden possibilities

Yeah man, sounds interesting, would appreciate a studio recording though. Very dynamic.

As far as the recording goes this got brickwalled to hell but I guess I could understand if you're talking about the songs
themselves. I think you'll dig our actual EP when it comes out in a few months.

starting to move away from the metalcore genre moving into more of a death metal taste..

Yeah I am as well. Actually, we're planning on transitioning into more melodeath territoy since we already have a decently
sizable influence from the genre anyway. I think the new track on the EP (which is basically the same songs as this minus
Untitled and Ruiner for whatever reason, with better recording and the aforementioned new track) will kind of show off the
new direction we're gonna go for (well, minus the huge epic outro since that would get old fast). I mean really the only thing
holding us in "metalcore" is the fact that our singer actually, well, sings.

singing and screaming is good for diversity levels.

Really I just like having a vocalist that understands the time and place for either. The instrumental component of any modern metal song has dynamics or mods changes instrumentally, but most death metal vocalists don't seem to care what's going on behind them. Zack approaches his vocal writing intelligently and that's all I can really ask of him. (Also, it's not featured on this demo I don't think, but he actually has a four octave voice and can hit everything from guttural lows to black metal shreiks.) He's been throwing that kind of thing in there live or in rehearsals and stuff and it's so cool I can't wait till we track the vocals.
