Yea back to 4.5 for me. Love every track. No clue what the 'NYC' hate is about, it's my fav song. Vocal sample is sublime. It's prob a bit bloated though. By the way, just grabbed Clubroot S/T, what am I in for?

The problem I have with 'NYC' is that it doesn't go anywhere. There's always a turning point in Burial's music, either in the beat itself or a switch up in the vocals that kind of end up providing a sort of emotional catharsis. 'NYC' is essentially just a cycle, ever repeating. And i'm not sure why he throws in the extra kick pads into the beat; something like that normally signals a change in tempo or a build up, these are just there upsetting the slow tempo

Eno, did you just tell me to shut up in my own thread?

shouldve just made the first track 20mins long and called it an EP

the other 2 are good too (especially sleeping dog) but neither touches title track imo

Favourite part of this ep: the little kid going "okey dokey" at the end of 'Stolen Dog'

Either this release came out of nowhere or I just suck at paying attention.

Little from column a and a little from column b

2 tracks were debuted on the radio with news of the physical release to follow in a few days, so it did kinda come out of nowhere

I really enjoy that mystery of him/Radiohead (only two artists I can really think of that do this) just releasing material out of the blue. It has this really romantic quality about it.

Like yes I am the biggest radiohead fan boy on the site but when we were all in that thread at 5am (for me at least) and we all kind of realized that it had just came out (regardless of your opinion of TKOL) was a really awesome moment.

I see what you mean about NYC Dev, though I'm not rly sure all his tracks do have that turning point. Hyperdub needs to stop slacking and get the digital up. They've been locking album down, striking ppl on YT etc.

Loved the summary.

Tbh I wasn't expecting that much, so I'm not shocked by the rating. Getting.
