@potato: i wouldnt say drastic ascension, but they've improved musically, their songs feel more natural, and its basically a better version of the sound they were going for on AHP

On this album, it kinda sounds like they're trying too hard.
|

they've always been trying too hard
seriously, look at the dude's they're fucking awkward

I think its more of they are just awesome at what they do.
|

Their hard work certainly paid off on this no doubt, but like I said before I was much more a fan of when they did short sub 3 minute songs.

It's mad gay.

True, but if they put out another 8 song New Reign fans wont be too happy. Its good to see sumerian can put out a successful album that exceeds 10 tracks.
|
| |
True, I guess it all depends on the listener. Tbh, I didn't appreciate the fact that The New Reign was like 10 minutes long.

i don't think it's anyone's place to say how many songs an album in a genre should have.
regardless, this album crushes. the keys and cameron's drumming make it though.
i enjoy every second of this 15 track long epic.

yeah I really like this but 15 tracks without a whole lot of variance is a bit much

IMO this is a work of art. I know some will disagree but, BOO have done something that is truely unique. I have been a fan for quite some time. They have had there troubles with length, out of place synth, and a sense of completion. Like the review said, I dare someone to present another album that has a remote sound to The Discovery. The album title is perfect. The guitar work is just breathtaking. The drummer really also stepped up and prooven his chops with this release. The Vox really caught my ear as well. They utilized the dual attack much better than their preveious relase. I also thought they brought the darkness well with the synth on this. I love the ambient interludes and the clean vocal song. Anywhoo, BOO jusy has brought the sheer musical talent on this realse. Top album of 2011 sealed the deal with the track "Devestate".

Which is a good thing

Automatic motion is pretty sick. Stopped really listening to this band after The New Reign but I'm glad I picked this up because its pretty damn good. My only problem is with the keyboard player, he seems unnecessary and in the way most of the time.

Ugh damn new users giving 5's to a deathcore album.

5's for this are pretty ridiculous. my 4 is for, like i said in the review, it just being fucking fun and awesome to listen to

I completely agree. This is definitely a fun listen, but as you said, a 5 is ridiculous.

I think I sit somewhere in the middle on this album. It's a fun listen and definitely a step up from their previous releases, but its too long and while not generic, doesn't really innovate either.

still can't believe how good this album is.
