"2/2 drummers i've talked to have stated that the drumming on here is superb"

3/3. I like the drumming on here a lot.

Drumming in the second half of "All Our Ends" is great!

You all need to just need to take a deep fucking breath and hold it. The whole point of this site is to offer varying views of music. Stop bitching at each other and respect the fact that not everyone perceives things the way you do.

pretty much what porch said.

I think this is probably the best post rock record to come out this year, followed closely by maybeshewill and grails, with mogwai and ETIS way behind

yeah the new grails is pretty cool. i haven't heard tunnel blanket yet either but i'm not really a big fan of TWDY anyways so my expectations aren't too high for it

i dont like how this is categorized as post-rock

it's much closer to prog rock/indie imo

do i sound like an idiot right now? i just tend to think of post rock as stuff with long buildups and classical composition style

you're right that it's not purely a post rock record but I think the post rock influences are pretty dominant. it's definitely way more post than prog. In a way I kind of see what these guys are doing as a natural branching out of the genre.

there's definitely a lot of emphasis on dynamics, buildups, and recurring themes on this album, with song structures resembling a more restrained take on traditional post rock structures. they just bring some other influences to the table as well

this and Grails are in my top Pst Rock albums for the year. Too bad they are not going to make any staff lists considering all the low ratings this has got
