All Arise! was a total shock to me considering I only have CW and THoL, but it has grown on me tremendously. This is a total sing-along album.

I really dislike this album. I've relaxed and listened to it, without any pretense (or at least I've tried to), and I still dislike it. What's wrong with a bloated concept album if it's a good time? Or, if at least the band is having a good time?
Seems the band is having fun in King Is Dead, so I guess i've contradicted myself. But something about the sound, I just don't like it. Plus, the songs are blaaand. I actually cringe at points.

I totally disagree. I think the album is very down to Earth after THOL, and decidedly so. They didn't run out of gas, but are starting over, which needed to happen after the over the top THOL.

i just listened to colin meloy playing the album acoustic and i loved it but i still cant stand it the way it was put to tape on this album. bummer
