Seriously though, I don't give a fuck what you want to call them. The dueling guitar and vocal lines, and the lyrics (although occasionally venturing too deeply into the realm of corniness) are excellent.
As for genre, where else do they fit? Too light for sreamo, and it's not emo. Post-hardcore is definitely where they fit.

I will never claim La Dispute is among the best. I just think they're really good, and my personal bias as a longtime fan makes them one of my favorites.

Yes I said it and I'm entitled to my opinion, as all of you are. I do not like this band. To me Post-hardcore is bands like Lungfish, Fugazi, Jawbox, Husker Du, Big Black, Quicksand, Unwound, and Drive Like Jehu. Just to name a few. This is not Post-hardcore. It is teen sappy indie rock with corny lyrics. This is my opinion. If you like this band good. I don't, it's a bore.
