You can obviously write (very well), but if you think that this is a review of a music album then you have to seriously re-evaluate what the definition of "review" is (unless this piece is truly meant to be a joke).

If your readers can't relate to your review and can't siphon the necessary information from it, then you, good sir, have failed massively as a reviewer. If you want to plumb the depths of human philosophy, or examine every ounce of carnal emotion that you can find, then start a blog. There, people can (and probably will) be more sympathetic towards your thought processes; it will be more fulfilling; it would be more effective. Although you can obviously do it here (free speech exists and no one can or will stop you), don't expect to be taken seriously. Further to that, don't take the liberty of lambasting other writers just because they choose to not take your radical (and ultimately pointless approach). Don't make fun of them simply because they know their audience better than you do. This is why I appreciate writers like BigHans, SowingSeason, Chan, and Knott - they know what their audience wants, and they provide the goods in a professional and truly impeccable manner that is not for a single moment too far "out there" or mindlessly incomprehensible.

In short, I can't make head or tail of this review, therefore I humbly feel that it is poorly-written; neg.

Btw the formula is bullshit. You could add an integration over a rotating circle, follow through with L' Hopital's rule and apply Fourier sequences whilst using the Mohr Stress Circle, and then still cap off the whole charade by multiplying the whole damn thing by zero and then add 1.

I really do - it's clever stuff. I don't really spend much time interacting (435 comments in 2+ years) so I'm not entirely caught up on the drama, but I think you would make a great reviewer. There's nothing wrong with a scathing review of an album that is widely loved. In fact, I think this site could use more of that. However, I can't help but feel like the scathing comments towards other reviewers are unnecessary. I understand that it is difficult to be the lightning rod when maligning a popular album, but acting pedantic like the users who disagree with you defeats the purpose. The best scathing reviews are those that don't give audience the satisfaction of a personal attack.



Check out David Thorpe from "Your Band Sucks." He lays out his controversial opinions and then just lets them sit there. It forces the reader to come to grips with the opinion or self-destruct. He doesn't get into petty battles with fanboys because it would diminish his viewpoint. As much as people would love for their favorite albums to be objectively wonderful, music is, unfortunately, very much a subjective matter. So, please, return to the good stuff! I'll be around to "pos" it when you do.

i dont care if he reviews music or not, his writing makes this site interesting, beyond the usual. dont get me wrong, im sure he's a big problem for the mods and users who are zealous for the site guidelines, there's nothing wrong with that either, but he adds flair here and the thing is he writes the best of anybody here, too, maybe some exceptions idk. this review is a joke, obviously as intended, and no offense guys, but dont even try to correct him. he knows what he's doing, and he's obviously not going to listen to your advice, just saying. he'll get banned and come back, it's whatever. Why is anybody mad or telling him to stop, besides the mods? does it really make you that mad? this is the internet lol
