I'll listen for the beats. I've gotten sick of Cudi's mumbles though.

Rap album of the year so far. Distant Relatives slides into second. Only My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (wow how wordy) has a chance of being better.

Killer review Chan.

We already spoke.

It was alright, a 3.5 for the most for me, I just don't see what everyone else sees.

Bulldog: Putting the class back in lower-class wigger elitism.

Great review Chan. Album is pretty damn solid. Also:

'Mary J. Blige's vocal contribution is perhaps the only relevant thing she's ever done.'

This.

I joined this website just so I could post a comment. This is by far one of the best reviews of an album I have read in a very long time. Many times I look for a good review (whether positive/negative) to get a feel of whether my money would be wasted in purchasing an album or like many just downloading the 1 or 2 songs that are actually good on an entire album. Although I wasn't an instant fan of Cudi after purchasing his first album and giving it a quick run-through, his music eventually grew on me after accepting that this isn't your run-of-the-mill hip hop album. Songs like "Pursuit of Happiness" and "Soundtrack 2 My Life" are my favorites off his debut... with "Soundtrack 2 My Life" making me relisten to the album and cementing me as a fan of his music. Your article is very insightful towards the tone of his new album, while providing the reader with a summary of what made his first album special. All this while showing that (unlike many other reviewers/bloggers now-a-days) you actually took the time to listen to his music (both the debut and follow-up album) and gave it a fair chance before posting your review. Although I was planning on getting this album (with hopes that it would be worth it) your review has me eager to listen to it even more so. Again, great article. Not because you gave it a positive score, but because you actually seem like you "give a damn" about giving the reader a good review.
