Andcas, you really seem to want everyone to agree with you and like this album. Sorry, but it's still scene shit. I have dated girls who will think this is the best thing ever will no doubt have the lyrics written on every surface they can copy i down onto. The album is full of the one-liners that they all love.
Yeah, the lyrics are atrocious, but the music's beautiful, so that makes up for it.
The drummer is actually really good when he is given a chance to shine, and same goes for the guitarists. They can write things with melody and even pull of a cool solo (Tell Slater anyone?) every now and then.
But over time the weakest link has been Oli, his vocals continue to go down the shitter and his lyrics manage to stay the same scene BS lyrics every album.
The drumming isn't as fast and therefor isn't good anymore? The tempo on this album is just slower than their previous works.
And I'm sorry, but you look incredibly ignorant by saying that the lyrical content on this and Suicide Season is at all like Count Your Blessings. These two were bawbag bullshit, Count Your Blessings is like talking about sluts and killing girls a lot of the time.
The only song I have heard post CYB that sounds like it has feeling is "Suicide Season".

Oli's fascination with Slipknot and electronic music has really messed this band up.
Oli doesn't write the music.
Tuning to drop G/A or whatever the hell it is and writing the same shitty chuggy songs for 2 albums does not impress me.
This album isn't a chugfest like Suicide Season...
So in other words, you need to actually give it a listen.

Maybe it's just the fact that BMTH seems to be staying away from the "dude lets chug slower for teh br00tlz" mentality, but I actually am kind of enjoying this (which I hate to admit). The guitar panning in the breakdown of It Never Ends was a decent enough surprise...At least they seem to be trying to do something a little different with the washy, ambient-esque stuff.
If I allow myself to listen to this whole thing it would probably be a 3ish.
