now you trolling

yeah, AnCo arguably makes catchier melodies but Sufjan is definitely more sophisticated in his approach. Now I

realize that sophistication is kinda looked down upon in indie spheres but it's undeniable, everything from his

arrangements to his melodic style is more studied than Animal Collective's approach. Which, come to think of it, may

be one of the reasons people don't LIKE Sufjan; he's almost relentlessly intellectual in his music

Illinois should not have worked, it worked only because the music was beautiful enough to make up for all the conceits.

for the record Sufjan is one of my favorite artists of all time

basically sufjan tries too hard lmao, whereas animal collective feels more natural and intuitive. i think music and art should be more that way. don't get me wrong i love illinoise but since we're comparing sufjan with anco i might as well just say it, he tries too hard, compared to anco.

YES lol sufjan doesn't sound like he knows how to use electronics lol...that's why i'm saying he should stick with folk, which he is actually good at and knows how to work with in a sophisticated way...well maybe age of adz is supposed to be sophisticated too but it sounds like a mess to meee.

lmao? don't know exactly what's funny about it tbh

but yes, you make a good and valid point. everything AnCo does sounds completely organic whereas there is definitely some Sufjan stuff that sounds contrived (some of this album, for instance, and the boring alt-classical that was BQE)

I think what you are trying to say is - Animal Collective are rejuvenating and fun whereas Sufjan focuses too much on mature song-writing

silveri - NO, BQE, like most indie-alt-classical-crossover-bullshit, was utterly insipid and boring

and this > enjoy your rabbit
