Crysis, if you see this, how in the hell do you hate the clean vocals?
I hear a lot of Opeth in them, something which I think has no place on an album like this. Influences aside, the delivery of them (how the words he sings are always looooong and drawn out) is really obnoxious and annoying, as if they are trying for them to be atmospheric and emotional but they aren't sure how to accomplish this, so they just put emphasis on every god damn syllable.

Saw this got a 5 and had to download it. Holy shit am I glad I did, this is awesome. The opening track is fucking AMAZING. I imagine this will definitely score somewhere in the 4-4.5 range once I've finished listening to the entire album.

Since I'm not that into black metal I'm not that used the the "growling" or guttural roars or what you like to call them this is a 3,5 for me but the instrumental work is pretty sweet and I do enjoy the clean parts of the singing.
Might grow to a 4 though.

i think the fact that people that don't normally enjoy enslaved or black metal in general are enjoying this says a lot to how good this is for people like me that fap to the band/genre on a daily basis.

Never heard of this band... *sigh* I really shouldn't have looked into this. i already have plans to go through A Silver Mt. Zion's discography, as well as plans to re-listen to Agalloch's albums to get ready for their new album, among other stuff. I have a lot of my plate..... but i couldn't help myself.
I just looked up track 1.... holy shit, this is now a high priority on my "To Listen To" list.

Not digging this too much. Clean vox are cheesy and annoying. They kind of misguide the songs. Then again, i've never been a huge enslaved fan. This is probably a 2.5 or 3 for me.
