Yeah I know what you're saying, I can only listen to a few songs from this album before I change to a different band, they just need to know how to use their talent.

The Crusade will definitely be better...I am seeing Trivium tomorrow. Should be fun.

They are compared to Iron Maiden more often because of the harmonized leads and that they trade off leads, not specificaly for the way they write songs.

My opinion on Trivium has changed, I just kept listening to them and think theyre quite gud

really good review, but I find it really hard to listen to Trivium, I've heard it all before and didn't like it in the first place.

1. A7X doesn't have as much screaming as I thought it did. But when I did hear screaming, i did not like it at all. Especially that weird fast scream thing he does toward the beginning of Unholy Confessions. When I hear it I just think 'what is he doing?'.
2. Personally, I like Matt's clean vocals. As I said, he's no Howard Jones, who did an unbelievable job on "The Dagger" from Roadrunner United, also. But I don't see a problem; hey, it could be worse.
3. I don't want to compare Trivium to another band too much, but I was browsing through music on the Internet and came across A7X. Let me know what you think. And although I really like this band and album, I agree that there is more potential within Trivium.[/QUOTE]
I agree with some of that, except the first one. Shadows scream fit A7X perfectly, I just don't think that Heafy is a good screamer, at all. But I agree that Matt's clean vocals are good.

I don't think he is gonna do as much screaming, I think in the Trivium thread in R&M someone said he was gonna tone it down.

he did an interview in total guitar magazine in January he said the new album "the crusades" is going to have a lot less screaming in it than Ascendancy, I think I might get it if it does because every member of the band is talented I hate being put off by Matt's screaming

"a lot less screaming in it than Ascendancy"
This could be a good thing as long as his clean vocals are OK, but I dont want them to do what A7X did and scrap them completely or use this as another chance to try and play up to the emo crowd like they did with the "clean" version of Dying in your Arms.

He's proably not doing as much harsh vocals because it's fucking with his voice, all the live videos on YouTube prove it.

Agreeing with Tarantino's Tarantulas here...as long as they don't turn emo on us. Matt is not the best screamer but I personally like his harsh vocals but he is more adept at clean vocals. Plus, when live, he doesn't do a whole load of screaming and when he does you can tell his voice is slightly fucked.

Matt's voice is on and off at times. Ive seen them play on TV and his voice has sucked, but when I saw them play at Ozzfest last summer, the entire band, including matt, was right on target. His voice is immature, and with time, will mature into a great screamer i believe.

I agree with Bfhurricane... I have also noticed that Shadows Fallen appears to portray the band in a fairly positive light in the bio of the band on the sputnik page but in this review he is slightly less positive. Just thought that was slightly amusing.

I tried to keep the review as positive as I could. It's hard though, because I obviously don't like them. This Message Edited On 03.23.06
