I too like Sweet Demise. One of the few tracks Bjorn doesn't kill. Agreed more or less, as that song is the only time on this album where I actually enjoy his vocal work (maybe in the chorus of "Let This River Flow", too). I wouldn't go as far as to say he kills the songs, but he does bring the album down a bit for me (not too much, like a 0.25 - 0.5 in rating). Speed has always been a mediocre vocalist though so I pretty much already knew beforehand that the vox are going to be the worst part of this album.

Dude, I remember watching that a long time ago. Apparently that was one of his worst live performances. Of course the YouTube fanbase (read: morons) try to justify it, though.

Got this yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised. It got a little bit repetitive but it's still very decent album from the band.
The guitar and the drumming is superb.

Speed had like 8 seizures during this recording.
Sick vest though.

This is somewhat disappointing. They really hyped this new cds as all bands do, but I was really hoping this would hark back to their older shit. I don't know, the solos are nice, there's some good choruses but Speed's screaming is not what it used to be. Why did he get rid of the lower growling range of vocals? That's one thing that has disappointed me for the last 4 cds, including Figure Number Five which I actually like quite a bit. Still, Natural Born Chaos was the last great album Soilwork released and they probably will never get to that level of songwriting ever again. The Panic Broadcast is a good cd but not great....definitely not a showcase of what they are truly capable of. I think that they are probably on their way out.................... Upon listening to this more over the last few days, I gotta bump this up half a point. It's actually got some good parts to it.

After overcoming some trepidation, anxiety, and shame, I'm coming out of my metal closet to admit that I LOVE THIS ALBUM. There, I wrote it and feel better for doing so. I bought this album thinking it probably would suck like their previous release, but was absolutely shocked to find out how awesome it is. For some reason, the melodic and accessible aspects of this album actually work. As others have written, really great song writing has resulted in timely and well crafted solos and choruses meshed with a nice clean/harsh vocal mix. In sum, my name is keyserfunk and I am a lover of Soilwork's The Panic Broadcast.

My faith in this band has been restored. Loving this atm.
You can't blame this guy for Nevermore's laziness.
That's what happens when you go into the recording studio sober.

You still confound me Karl with your unpredictable taste in music. A Tarja album with just flutes and bongo drums more metal than this.

can see the too commercial arguement but think its a good album, similar to the Figure Number Five album in its style if slightly cleaner. could do with being more aggressive in parts but good melodies and riffs.
