"Mid-era Katatonia is basically this without the whiny vocals and nu-metal elements and with more gothic metal"

Threw this on the other day when doing yard work for old times sake and I am not ashamed to say that every song on here is pretty awesome even after all these years.

this is definetly one of the best albums of its genre. probably one of the heaviest albums to get such mainstream attention, good grief that guitar tone and bass production is immense. this having a 3.3 is pretty criminal

y'know, listening to this again, I really think Aaron lewis has BPD. having it myself, I recognize a lot of his lyrics especially in "fade", "for you" and "it's been awhile" to be directly from someone with the same condition as me: unable to forget the past even after moving on, ruminating on the conversations that never happened. it would explain a lot of lewis's identity issues, steadfast opinions, and outbursts in real life. makes me have a whole new perspective on the man.
