A clear change in style which largely welcomes the gritty nature of Crust Punk, incorporated into Darkthrone's already raw BM approach. It's far from the band's best album, but in terms of their Crust Punk influence era (This and the next few albums I believe) this is definitely their best for me. Opener 'The cult of Goliath' is monumental and 'De Underjordiske' seems to have a slightly more BM-oriented sound than usual, but there are a few songs which prove to be boring and simply follow the same structure-But then I suppose that's typical of this particular genre.
