Everything In Its Right Place is the best opener of all time. Wish I could have been there listening

to this for the first time in 2000 as everyone is waiting for RH to save rock music. Then BOOM, they

drop EIIRP first up as if to say "We are Radiohead, we can do whatever the fuck we want." Amazing.

SOYCD has the advantage of going for 13 minutes. In less than a third of that time, EIIRP is able to brilliantly and succinctly announce the direction the album will take. Both are perfect.

Who care man PF and RH are amazing bands. Though branching out is definitely good. I'm so glad I

decided to join this site and do that this summer.

I know this is a Radiohead thread but heres my opinion on both those Floyd albums (I'm not part of the Animals circle jerk, so hate me now). Being pretty similar I'll break it down

Bookends of WYWH > Animals

Longest song on WYWH > the one on Animals

Ballad-like song dedicated to someone in a band member's life on WYWH > the ones on Animals

Roger's lyrical bitching of the music industry in WYWH > lyrical bitching of capitalism in Animals

Animal's synth-heavy song > WYWH's

WYWH's baseline-heavy song > the one on Animals

WYWH > Animals

so yeah...

Animals lyrics > WYWH's lyrics

Dogs > SOYCD

Pigs > Welcome To The Machine

Sheep > Have A Cigar

WYWH (t/t) > every other song ever

Animals > WYWH (but just).

Welcome To The Machine scares the shit out of me. Tried listening to it while going to sleep one time. Bad idea.

That's why it's brilliant though, one of Gilmour's best vocal performances.
