The vocals can get a little annoying. Nowhere near as good a singer as Karnivools main guy.

Excellent stuff. Something about it that makes me reluctant to give it a 5, the production may be a bit too pristine and the style can be a bit repetitive over the length of an album (although I appreciate the electro-industrial influences in a few songs).

I think they're more of a singles band then an album band as it doesn't really flow as one piece, but every individual song here reaches epic heights of awesome and each band member has a chance to excel, I can see this staying in my cd player for a long time.

you can tell it was recorded over an extended period of time. each song works well enough on its own, yet the pace of the album suffers when they are all thrown together.

Cool stuff. I expect their future albums to be phenomenal. This one shows off talent and exceptional musicianship, but I think when they puch themselves just a little further.... Well, I guess they're just really a band to keep an eye on right now. I'm still probably going to get this album.

Killer review.

Theve got awesome songs on here. But it sort of loses its appeal when all of em are put together. This just doesn't do it for me as an album.Releasing them as EPs over time would have done it though.

Epic is a word thrown around all too frequently [...] becoming just another genre name for bands with big vocals and spaced out songs. However, on This is the Warning, Dead Letter Circus have actually achieved the definition of epic. Coming across as a combination of The Temper Trap, Karnivool and everything else in between, the band manage to maintain an air of experimentation while still being inherently catchy.

So, the definition of epic would be experimentation and catchiness, while sounding like a combination of The Temper Trap and Karnivool?

Thinking of dropping to a 4. There isn't enough depth to the songs, they all flash with brilliance but usually chop and change to an average ending.

Also the lyrics cover the same ground in every song. Yeah Kim, you want to "change" we get it already
