where does it rank with Antidotes? I was spinnin' that for a while

I gave Antidotes a 4 and Total Life Forever a 5 so it's fair to say I rank it considerably higher, but it's no exaggeration to say the two records are nothing alike. The band have pretty much abandoned the stock mathsy instrumentation found on Antidotes for a more complete sound if you will. It's highly influenced by The Cure and Radiohead and generally makes for a maturer album. Looking at your ratings, you should love it. If in doubt check out Spanish Sahara.

I thought that was what made Foals- the mathy pop punk with catchy hooks, but I don't doubt the much room for maturing and expanding. It was in any case necessary. Kinda like what MGMT did in a way it sounds like.
