This is far from average

Probably 'Mars' or 'Silver', though if you wanna include pre-released stuff then I'd probably have to side with 'Your Love Will Set You Free'

On the one hand I really like the new album. But on the other hand, it's a terrible Caribou record

Well on it's own it's just an all-round solid release. But it doesn't feel like a Caribou release. Swim showed that Snaith was definitely heading in a more "dance"-oriented direction, but it was still definitively a Caribou record with all the leftfield psychedelia. Our Love is very streamlined and straight-forward, at times it's almost simple 4x4. It lacks in all the quintessential Caribou flavours; at times it reminds me of his Daphni moniker

thats too bad. i loved the direction he took with Swim. 'Our Love' still sounded like Caribou to me though even if it had gone even more in that direction.

Andorra was so fantastic, but always loved the direction he took on this too. Found Out is perfect.

Think I prefer 'Our Love' a little bit. This is definitely better than the previous album, though that does have 'Niobe'.

I do think this one has the biggest early impact, so works as a gateway...but then gets a bit boring/fades. 'Our Love' is a bit eh on initial inspection but more a grower.
