It's god damn impossible to pinpoint the best track on this album. I think it's definitely between Savant, Only Twin and Voorhees.

As far as songwriting goes, I think Savant takes the cake. I'd not dare try to pick a favorite, but iTunes tells me Trail of Fire is my most played.

Too true. This may well be the best album I've ever heard. Creeping up on becoming my all-time favorite over EIP, too. Possibly. I'm not sure if I could sleep tonight if I went ahead and tried ranking the songs!

It's interesting because I think Everyone Into Position is my third favorite of their LPs (behind this and Effloresce) but I've been working on my top 100 albums of all time for over a year now and all three of them appear in my top 40. I consider Opeth my favorite band of all time still and even they only have two in the top 40. I only have a handful of bands with multiple entries in the top 100, while only Oceansize, Opeth, and Agalloch have as many as three.



I'm rambling but I'm going to miss these guys. Wish I could have seen them live.

I've wanted to compile a top 100 albums but it would be such a repetitive, redundant list at this point. I'm only at around 260 ratings right now. I try to rate only what I've ACTUALLY heard enough to form an opinion about. I could probably get up to about 400 if I rated all the albums I listened to once.



I'm afraid about 75% my top 20 could legitimately consist of Oceansize, Elliott Smith and The Mars Volta :/



But that's strictly my 'favorite' albums.

I planned to finish it up at the end of summer 2010 haha. Just shows how OCD I get with it. It's really hard to actually make a list like that. I have a bunch of playlists set up in my itunes just for sorting them out.
