I thought the Fang Island thing was common knowledge, but yeah. Did Daughters really break up though? Because they have replaced pretty much all their members before, so why not again?

And yeah, the Fang Island thing makes sense, I think Daughters have always kind of had one foot in the math rock scene. I remember when I saw them, they were opening for Russian Circles, and Jeff Worms (ex-Tera Melos) was playing guitar for them. Nick Reinhart was there, he stood next to us for like half the set.

if they're broken up I'd be surprised.

as you pointed out sniper -- wouldn't be the first time they've dumped 1/2 the band and reformed (to make a better album lulz)

and fucking Arab On Radar just got back together so now its time to get a joint Daughters - Arab - Lighting Bolt show going on here. all the best of Rhode Island noise...in RI...so I can go.

win.

Mmmmm that would be a goooood show. Hopefully they bounce back and release something really awesome. He should really start screaming again though.

daughters is fo sho broken up. the singer apparently hated this album. he said this about the sound on this album:
"It's so easy to steer it and try to be accepted, and do this because this is what's good, and this is what's going to make our band popular. That's no good. That's not art. That's shit. It's not even shit. It's less than shit. What's less than shit? I don't even know. Trying to be other bands... that's less than shit."
i kind of agree with him, though i never really liked daughters older stuff. but this album got me into hell songs though.

The singer kicked out Nick Sadler because he disagreed with his decisions. I bet the singer reforms the missing pieces of the band and releases a new record completely different from this one.

I've had this for a while but it finally clicked over the last week. This is one of those albums I gave a single listen to, put aside for a month, came back to it and went "Holy fuck, this is amazing".

Anything from Hydra Head Records = amazing in my books. Noise rock/ metal (whatever the hell you call this) always sits well with me.
