The first 4 songs, including the horn intro, flow together extremely well. Ocean Breathes Salty is the best

i enjoyed this album gets me in that dancin mood
|

I used to hate this band cause of Float On and the annoying vocals but tolerance and appreciation come with age, I suppose. Love this band and album as of recent

fuck ya. album rules. last four songs rule so hard. but, i tend to agree with Treb - the tom waits rip-off songs are the weaker tracks here. although, Dance Hall and Satin in a Coffin are pretty prime.
weird mixtape... Float On got me into this band back when it was popular in like '05-ish.. too bad that's the only song the mainstream really took a liking to though.

badass album except for the filler.

I just never used to be into the vocal style he utilized in the "ALRIGHT WE'LL ALLLLL FLOAT ON ALL RIGHT" but listening to TM&A all the way through and then this sold them for me. I really enjoy them now.
I find I end up liking bands more in the long run if I hated them at first. Hence: La Dispute, Touche Amore, Brand New yeah

true. that's happened to me with a few bands too.. tallest man on earth, the weakerthans and mewithoutYou's vocals all took a while for me to dig.

This Modest Mouse album was the hardest for me to get into, I still prefer most of their earlier work to this but it does contain some of their best songs.
|
| |
I actually found this to be the most accessible. It's the catchiest of their releases in my opinion, although it's probably the safest

It is very accessible but I didn't think I was ready to listen to it until I heard their earlier work which I had heard was more raw but also more rewarding. Besides I already knew some of the songs from this at that time.
