saw them friday night, great shit. those first 3 records just have a knack for catchy songwriting every dm band for 20 years has lacked. the fact that they were playing zappa and dixie dregs and p-funk on the PA is proof benton is a closet genius playing a dumbass, as opposed to chuck who was very desperately wanting to be perceived as the smartest guy in the room. "we sing about, like, uh, reality maaannnn"



inhuman condition was boring as hell, missed opportunity not playing any death/massacre stuff. kataklysm also sucked, no early stuff which was lame. deicide was pretty much 90s only, AKA the good music that exists

i also liked how the crowd was mostly 45-50 year olds and the 20 buck spin longsleeve kids stayed home lol. i did talk to a cool dude in a slumber of sullen eyes shirt so that was cool, cool album and shirt

gotta say friday night was a lot better experience than when i last saw deicide in 2013 w/ broken hope and disgorge, i had a terrible headache that day that ruined the whole thing. didnt even feel like going but had to cause i mean, i bought the ticket. plus at the time i hated "brutal death" outside of cryptopsy and suffocation so sitting through 2 hours of it to get to deicide just made the headache worse tbh

way more people at the show friday too, when i saw em in 2013 there was maybe like 35-40 people in the building and benton just had this vibe of not caring at all. his bald spot may have grown in the past 10 years but so has his crowd :D

Glad you had a good show experience with the Deicide sonic! I always rock my "REAL MEN LOVE JESUS" shirt front row when I see them and I've gotten a few smirks from Glen lol.
