As a Dutchman I feel pretty embarrassed that I never heard of this band before.

Mandylion, Nighttime Birds and this one are '90s classics. Couldn't believe my ears when I first heard Mandylion.

I prefer Nighttime Birds over Mandylion to be honest, it feels much more polished. I also like how completely different this one is in comparison to their previous works, especially the incredibly ambitious title track (still need time to completely digest that song).

Hard to choose a favourite between Mandylion, Nighttime Birds and this. My favourite Gathering album ever is Souvenirs, though.

Nighttime Birds is indeed more polished and closer to Anneke's style as Mandylion was written before Anneke had joined the band iirc. That contrast between the heavy riffs and Anneke's voice is what makes me lean towards Mandylion. But all three Mandylion, Nighttime Birds and this one are among my favorite '90s stuff. Give The 3rd and the Mortal if you're into doomy stuff with female vocals too.

Souvenirs is the gold standard dude, you've got that right. I've got a huge soft spot for Home too, but people don't seem to share that

Honestly, between Travel, Amity, Forgotten and These Good People, this band has a fair cluster of the best songs ever

Agreed about Home, love that album to bits. But this is my all-time favourite though. I just can't seem to get enough of this particular atmosphere...
