Is there actually a reason for the sudden jump in Pokemon avatars, or is it just a completely random coincidence?

It just took off from qwe, qwe2, qwe3 etc doing it all the time.

lol, fair enough then. Funnily enough the thought of changing mine to Totodile has crossed my mind more than once.

These are the band everyone loves to hate right now. They don't re-invent the wheel but I'm not sure if that makes them a terrible band. I will reserve judgement on this till I heard it. Great live band on last tour tho.

I just hate Stockdale's horrible whine, and the fact that they ripped off Black Sabbath to an insane level, The Joker And The Thief is about 2 minutes too long with one good riff (Iron Man anyone?)

Andrew Stockdale is the greatest artist of our generation. Every guitar riff, every lyric, every sound...Wolfmother's first album was great. It doesn't even seem like you listened to Cosmic Egg, White Feather, Sundial, 10,000 Feet, every song is has its own sound, from the upbeatness of White Feather, to the heavy facemelting Pilgrim...obviously no one has even listened to this album yet. All you can talk about are the songs that are pre-released.

Listened through the album once, about what I expected, easy listening rock music, nothing to be taken too seriously yet still enjoyable to listen to. I think anyone who's disappointed just had way to high expectations from the guy/s(and remember it's Stockdale's sophomore effort too).
@acsorro - "Andrew Stockdale is the greatest artist of our generation" Hahahahaha, I hope to God your not serious. The album is fun but all his lyrics are below par, his voice is distinct but not likeable to many (*COUGH *MIKE PATTON* *COUGH) and his album should have Led Zeppelin, the Who as well as many other great classic rock bands cited due to his obvious impersonation.

@ acsorro: I gave this album 5 or 6 listens before writing, and another one aftwards. I don't see how
this a 5, though I understand how people could enjoy this. Calling Andrew Stockdale the artist of this
generation however, that needs some rethinking.

Agreed, and with how diverse people's taste are in music these days, I don't think there will ever be a generational icon. Their are only a handful of bands that I can think of off the top of my head that are universally liked and that would be U2 and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Also, the guitar riff for "Cosmic Egg" sounds like "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" by George Thorogood.

the deluxe version of this is dope

"While these two songs may be as good as they are, the rest of the album is really let down with boring and mediocre 70’s riffage and recycled ideas are used throughout the whole album. Cosmic Egg is about as exciting as it sounds. Overdone ideas are used too heavily and obvious rock roots are thrown in." - this is the only part of the review I can find that justifies the negative rating. I don't wanna be a prick, I'd just love some more detail to this.

Only song thats alright on this album is 'Back Round' and that was out ages ago anyway. First album is better than this, though thats not saying much.

If New Moon Rising is one of the best song on this album I should stay clear of this. Didn't like that song much at all. Their debut was pretty good though imo.

i agree their debut was quite good, just very shallow.

I dunno it's just my reviewing style, short and sharp. I suppose I will branch out in the future, and make them longer.
