I haven't heard much from Unearth, but I think that early ATR, Shadows Fall, and Bleeding Through have a bit more to offer.

But they do. Early ATR may fall victim to whiny vocals, but in general the songs tend to be much better, i.e. much more metal than core. Plus, Oli's guitar leads are spectacular.



I have Shadows Fall's debut, The War Within, and Threads of Life, all of which are very good. I'm not even sure if I'd call Threads of Life a metal-core record.



Bleeding Through is pretty much hit or miss with their songs, but when they hit, damn are they great! Have you ever heard On Wings of Lead?



I liked this record, but

1.) Too many damn breakdowns

2.) Vocals reminded me of some post-hardcore band, not a metal band



The redeeming quality is definitely the guitars, which sound very In Flames-esque at times.
