MCalle451, give their music more than 3 spins. If you actually listen to it, you'll hear it sounds different.
and alachahol if you think their lyrics suck, you're fucking retarded. For real. Keith is probably one of the best lyricists ever.

you gave this album a 5 and you're calling me retarded

uh..lyrics are pretty decent but what i'd expect from a band like this. nothing amazing.
this will probably drop to a 3.5 but its pretty fun stuff

Anyone agree that this is stronger than the big dirty but weaker than all their other stuff?
I might just be too acquainted with this band and couldn't allow myself to be amazed by this, but it came across as an average record.

lyrics on hot damn are the best, but i still love them on the other releases as well.
and it's definitely stronger than the big dirty, probably as good if not better than gutter phenomenon, but nowhere near as good as hot damn was.

I prefer Gutter Phenomenon still to this, and let's not forget the face melting Last Night in Town
I'm gonna bump the rating on this though it's a decent effort

Eh,
Hot Damn!>The Big Dirty?Gutter Phenomenon=New Junk Aesthetic>Last Night In Town
I know most people will disagree with the middle part of that, but that's just the way it is for me. Hot Damn! is the best of their more aggression/energetic sound while The Big Dirty is just damn catchy. I walk around singing those melodies/riffs for days after listening to that shit.

I guess I just have different tastes in that regard since I consider Last Night on Town in spite of its shady recording quality to be much more furious, technical, and dirty than any of their material following it. I like their other albums such as Hot Damn for different reasons (catchyness versus heaviness)

album is a fun listen, nothing mindblowing tho

Album is as boring as it can possibly get. I'm seriously starting to think that people on this forum only give good ratings to albums by American bands. Sell out patriotes.
|
| |
maybe for metalcore because that's what's more well known, but if you look at sputnik users as a whole you'd know that we beat it hard for european metal.

Great review, just got into this album, it's amazing.

@alachlahol: I lol'd. Yeah and you gave Daft Punk, the most tepid group of pseudo-musicians in all
of electronica, a 5.
haha cool logic bro. brodown.
It's actually a very generous 5. It took me a long time to enjoy Revolution and Roman Holiday. I'd
give this a 4.8 if I could. If anything I wish the distorted vocal effect had been ditched.

gah so afraid to listen to this. i still to this day pop in burial plot bidding war, last night in town, and hot damn, but the last two albums kind of scared me away..

Give it a listen, it's better than their last two.

never understood the hype on this band, nice review though.

idk why this is of all things are so poplar..? I love (LOVE) ETID, and Hot Damn is still to this day one of my all time favorite albums...but this (compared to their previous efforts) is average at best imo!
Burial Plot Bidding War < New Junk Aesthetic < The Big Dirty < Last Night In Town < Gutter Phenomenon < Hot Damn
There’s no real standout tracks, the lyrics are disappointing (but still pretty cool, it’s Keith Buckley after all), and the best song on this’ still not even better than the worst song on Gutter…
I had such high hopes for this album (especially after hearing The Marvelous Slut), but this turned out to be the letdown of 09 for me…
