Despite the fact that Meshuggah went for a more "steamlined" approach with this album it still comes off as nothing less than amazing

Bleed is a really awesome song. But I do agree that this album isn't their strongest release, but it does still have some balls to it.

Review didn't even mention the drums on bleed, thus is fail. And if you think Meshuggah are boring and repetitive, you're doing it wrong.

I actually meant the songs on the album all sound the same to me, but that's pretty funny i'll leave it there.

oh there's been debate here. let me address all the stupid ones...

Review didn't even mention the drums on bleed, thus is fail. And if you think Meshuggah are boring and repetitive, you're doing it wrong.

oh sorry I forgot to mention the drums on one song. You're right, my bad, the drum line on a single song makes up for the entire album sounding like a bunch of bangs and juns and bleats.

What am I doing wrong, exactly? Listening?

You got me, I'm actually deaf, I just asked my friend and he wrote this review for me. "doing it wrong" doesn't even actually claim anything; it's a fragment. A really fucking dumb one. Should I stand on my head? Oh, I know, I'll cut my ears off. That will make this sound better.

And then, to top your retardery from before:

Or you're just missing the whole point of the band.

Unless the point is to write boring repetitive songs, I'd say... no.

Actually the point is rhythm and timing, which are two of the few progressive elements of the band. If you're not a fan or can't get into the rhythm, it's going to sound torturously repetitive because you'll be relying mostly on melody.
