There needs to be more love for the closer "Sirius". The climax makes me shiver from how perfect it is...

^What the hell is up with your punctuation?

Just listened to this last night after a while of not listening to it. Still wunderbar.

The placement of "Aurora Borealis" right before "Sirius" really does it for me.This Message Edited On 02.08.09

Intro to "March Into the Sea" is a win.

Pelican is one of those bands I can't get in to. Post-rock in general, too.

Which doesn't make sense because I listen to a lot of ambient and downtempo.

The first time I heard this, it was terribly boring and got a 2. I gave this another shot in a more appropriate setting and liked it a good amount. However, the production seems to be different on each track (kind of like how the instrument tones on Black Clouds & Silver Linings seem different for each song). Red Ran Amber was mindblowing because everything was clear and came through perfectly, but most of the album was neutered noticably because the production felt compressed into a very thin space, such that the playing felt sloppy, grating and generic even though I could hear the talent in there.

Is this just me?

I don't like this half as much as everyone else seems to.

Drumming is kinda weaksauce.

I liked it a lot from first impression, but it grew off me a little. Better stuff out there.

Yeah, I was actually referring to better stuff in the same genre. Your comment still valid, but I wanted to specify.

This wasn't quite as great as I had hoped, but the artwork/cd look pretty sweet and I got a cool shirt so success.

Hmm..."The Fire in Our Throats..."

I wonder if this is the same fire Nadja tasted in "Radiance of Shadows"...: P

I really should try this..."Australasia" was epic.
