Don't you think he could probably pull off an album full of stuff like 5:20 into Rose Quartz Turning to Glass, and pretty much all of Clover Garland Island? It works really well in the context of this album, but I'd be interested in hearing more of it. Toby has done so much experimental stuff that I'd be interested in hearing him make some more straightforward, accessible music.

there were other artists for prog death before maudlin was even a thing... I'm pretty glad that we got to hear Toby's take on it. I'm pretty much interested in Toby's take on anything and everything.

Straightforward relative to his other material... it would obviously still be weird in the general sense. He's done it before (stuff on here, Blight of River Systems) and I think he could flesh it out more. Obviously I would be perfectly content with another album like this but I'm just curious.

he lost me a little bit from Dowsing onward but I still like those albums a lot. he's definitely never made any bad or even average music in my book.

Driver can make weird music, he can make strange music, he can make dark and bright and heavy and light music but ultimately it is an a priori and necessary truth that he cannot make anything bad
