In my opinion, they did do more than any other bands at the time. But they were not alone, as I stated. The Beach Boys and the Stones were just examples.

And what further proof could you possibly need of their legacy? I'd definitely say the fact they were a global phenomenon didn't hurt their causes.

Like I said, I'm not disputing their legacy, I'm just brushing off statements about their godly status in contemporary music.

You can still definitely hear Beatles influences in a lot of music today.

Wow...

You guys sure had fun while I was gone!

"Could it be, oh shock horror, that the 2 of you just have different musical tastes? Oh no, call Guinness Book of World Records."

I think this EVERY time i'm on this website. I've now heard the whole album and still stand by a 5. However I'm not even gonna get angry at you guys, I just cannot possibly believe you have sunk to the level to go through everything I have listed to take a swipe at me lol.

you guys are simply pathetic. lol thanks davey for the defence!, and even rasputin who at least has the brains to put logic behind his attacks.

my favorite episode of scrubs is when the show switches to sitcom form and all the nurses have cleavage showing and they do the whole talent competition thing.

First paragraph:

Every so often, an album comes along that hugely splits opinion, appearing constantly on both "best" and "worst" lists and sparking constant debate.

The 2000s have spawned plenty of albums like this, and arguably the most well known of these is Green Day's political semi-concept, American Idiot, released in 2004.

This album marked a huge change in the direction of the band's music, with a far more ambitious and epic feel than any of the band's previous releases.

Should they have continued their progression and written another "rock opera," entirely alienating many of their older fans, or return to their signature pop-punk sound, pleasing these fans while potentially upsetting their more mainstream audience?

Your review reads kind of awkwardly as well.
