I think it's going to be more of a straight up folk record than anything else, it seems like they've abandoned any of the ambient post-rock influences they showed in their earlier material.

I've listened to their new album. It's lost quite a lot of the beauty of Recordings Of The Middle East, but it's still pretty damn good. 'Hunger Song', 'Months', and a few other tracks stood out, but not as much as, say, 'Lonely' or 'Pig Food' would from the Recordings.



The drop in quality is because they didn't have much time to record between their countless tours last year. I suppose since they're more relaxed now, we can expect something more like their debut LP for their next album.

i'll have to pick it up soon. when i saw them back at falls over the new year i could tell their style had changed a fair bit, a lot less experimental and more straight up in its folk influences.

I'm a poser only looking at this thread because I heard "Blood" in two movies that I love. It's probably all I'll ever hear, but dang is it good.
