Yeap, I am also on the 'enjoyable but still one of their weaker albums' wagon

Jammed this for the first time in ages, and I like it a bit more.
Might bump to a high 3.

Great. There's a lot of interesting ideas on this one.
A Chapter in Loathing is a fun listen.

it being squeezed right in between their two best modern albums doesn't help its case

I'm barely a fan of A Map of All Our Failures (their modern era pinnacle is Feel the Misery).
About For Lies I Sire, it sounded to me like the hangover produced by the previous (superb) four albums.
Now that the hangover has passed haha, I think I can see this album somewhat more objectively.

Tbh I never understood all the fuzz about ALoDK. It ain't bad ofc but it's not very ambitious.

Am I out of my mind for thinking this is one of the band’s best albums?

This isn't terrible, but it's definitely MDB at their most watered down.

It's definitely not bad. I like it to an extent, but it doesn't have that magic that MDB albums usually have.

Opening tack and Santuro are the ones i like. Its a very middle career album of "do we still want to do this? Or should we have a break"
