"It's obviously metalcore-influenced djent."

Agreed. People refer to Fellsilent like they kinda reinvented Prog and experimental metal, thats pretty farfetched. Math metal (call it djent) and metalcore are better fits for their sound.. Even though there's a lot of prog here, and groove.

Also, Fellsilent or Fell Silent? How the hell do you write it?? The band's Facebook has Fell Silent, but it's Fellsilent almost everywhere.

Hmm righty.

Mindless self, oblique, drowned in my enemy are top notch. Begin Erase is equally darn good, but feels

a bit too much like a Meshuggah copycat track. The whole album is solid as fuck, but the last few

tracks kinda slow the whole thing down.

Fav tracks anyone?

yeah this band pretty much kicked off the whole modern djent sound. i think even 90's and early 2000's groovy metal bands like pantera, korn, sikth, textures were precursors to the whole djent thing (as well as the obvious being meshuggah)

fav tracks:

drowned in my enemy,

(outro of oblique = best thing ever),

silence is the loudest cry for help,

the sleeper must awake + the age of deception

¨yeah this band pretty much kicked off the whole modern djent sound.¨

I can definitely agree with that.

The Age Of Deception hmmm. At first it even felt like one of the weakest in the album, now its pretty decent though. Its a good finisher too, no doubt. Still...

Age of Deception is filthy. First riff I learned when I got my RGA7.

This is such an awesome album. It took forever to get this on cd, the US release date was so much later than the European. Surprisingly after searching store after store I found this at Best Buy a week after it's US release.

Yeah I was surprised, Best Buy is usually a last resort. They had $7.99 coupon for the new BTBAM but they didn't even stock it in a single Pittsburgh store, cheap bastards didn't wanna lose money over it. Good for Btbam though either way, they sold 79,000 records in a week, they were #3 on the charts, just 1 behind Coheed & Cambria, it's the most they've ever sold.
