I was the exact same way when I first joined sputnik. Marched on in with no avatar preaching about the greatness of fall out boy and all time low...
I grew to fit in eventually.

Dougie, Yeah, actually. Like, 4-material. Shall we divert this conversation to a less irritating place?
Shrapnel, I was the avatarless defender of metalcore in said day.

Album is surprisingly decent.
Sierra Kusterbeck on last track is massive win.
Also Waior your avatar is possibly better than Ms. Fischer.

Whoa.

these guys are over rated live. the pits are too over populated with bros to do any real dancing, and the repetition isn't any less obvious. Gallows owned them with their live performance.

Emmure owned the fuck out of these guys as well.

So many people enjoy hating on ADTR for the soul fact that they have succeeded in making this type of music successful... maybe SOME OF US actually like having breakdowns in our 'cliche/trendy' pop punk.
Hating on this band is hating on fun.

ADTR aren't bad though, you just dislike them. They play a pop punk+hardcore hybrid with lots of breakdowns (apparently some people have an issue with this), but ADTR pull off this style very well. It'd be one thing if they sucked live but that certainly isn't true.

You make this band actually sound slightly deep, I then remembered how shitty they are.

I think ADTR have more haters than almost any other active band... does it piss you guys off that they are proving to be so successful?
Hopefully they influence a bunch of kids to go out and create similar bands who do equally as well so then you guys will have more 'br00tal pop punk bands' to hate on and I'll have more of them to listen to. ;)

Combining pop punk and breakdowns really just makes them twice as derivative and boring though so idk...
First track still makes me kind of chuckle but that's about it.

Album isn't bad, just average.

What I'm saying is that ADTR take far too much unwarrented shit. They are able to pull their shit off live (while putting on a great show) that alone should be worth at least something to you. Brokencyde are 'shit', Millionaires are 'shit' but they are shit for obvious reasons because no effort or talent went into their music, this is not at all the case with ADTR.

Why different though? I don't honestly think it's a bad thing for a band to write the same basic album over and over, of course this depends on the band it's self in most cases but so long as the core fans are into it I see no issue. I think ADTR have really hit on something, and with each album they better it. In a way I perfer consistency over change... people listen to certain bands for certain reasons, normally when bands change their sound it doesn't work out very well.
You mentioned NFG in your review, they are a good example of this. They attempted to change their sound to something more MTV friendly (which was stupid because they were already huge) and for the most part everyone hated it, thus they went back to making music they knew their fans would like (or at least it turned out that way). Orchid wrote the same song over and over again about 60 times, worked for them, Graf Orlock write the same stuff over and over again, currently works pretty well for them... granted very different styles of music but why can't the same thing work for ADTR?
Sometimes bands lose focus of what makes their music so enjoyable through their self defeating intensions of 're-inventing themselves' ...Fear Before The March Of Flames is a great example of a band that 're-invented' themselves in the worst way possible... their first two albums were great... everything there after sucked horse cock... at the very least though they had the decency of changing their name... even though it took them a few years.

It gets boring and proves the band to be a one trick pony
