Shotgun Messiah was an 80's rock band that was very similar to bands like Motley Crue and Def Leppard, but then for their final album they went in a total industrial direction. The guitarist/vocalist (Tim Skold) went on to form the industrial band "SKold" and later performed with Marilyn Manson and KMFDM (amoung others).

WOAH! I should check them out.
Dude Is this 100th review gonna be an 80's cock rock band? I'm having trouble even thinking of anything ![](frown.gif)

Actually, they do sound interesting Trey... Thanks for the heads up as I can honestly say I had never heard of them before. Sounds like the band weren't fully agreeable on the industrial direction and it resulted in their break-up. Maybe they are not the only such band!
Is it c0ck rock? Nah, I wouldn't say that, although there is the occasional glimpses of it.
***** I guess that's a nice lead in for CLUE #11 (if that wasn't just given above):
- The genre is a tough one to pin down as the word "fusion" is prominent in my review, but if I had to choose, it would be hard-rock.

hmm sounds like a band I probably haven't heard before. Your clue made me think 'Extreme', as they are essentially a funk rock band with an element of c0ck rock. but alas, they are a 1 word band.

Did you say funk-rock? Getting closer... In fact, the more I think about it, the more you will know the band.
Billy, I can confirm that the band are not from our homeland.

***** CLUE #12:
The group don't mind winning an award or two, with there even being a link to the Academy Awards since one band member acted in a Best Picture Oscar winner.
Of course, musically speaking, they will be more remembered for their 2 successive Grammy Awards for Best Hard Rock Performance! This Message Edited On 01.23.09

DavID, how was the BDOut. Didja score?
Was good.
TVOTR, Neil Young and the Drones were all highlights.

Just good DavID?
I'm not a huge fan of any of the 3 bands you mention to be honest, although I definitely would have seen TVOTR.
And what about the upcoming young Aussie bands... Surely one of them impressed you.....

Yeah I didn't go to BDO, none of the acts took my interest and whilst I really love Arctic Monkeys and Living End I wasn't gonna play big bucks to see them as I've already seen them both live before.
